Really, really intriguing.
The Girl in the Window left me feeling very sad. I can’t imagine a human being, treating their child in such an horrible way, Lord have mercy.
Reading the article made me really want to re-read Beautiful Child by Tory Hayden. Tory Hayden is a Special Ed teacher that slowly changes the behavior of her student who suffered very horrible abuse at home. I read this book in High School and it really helped me understand how precious childhood really is and how much I should give thanks to God for my parents and my faith.
The only thing that bothered me about this article was the following quote, “She was fragile and beautiful, but whatever makes a person human seemed somehow missing.” (taken directly from the girl in the window article) I was troubled by this because the Orthodox Church believes that every person is a human being made in the image and likeness of Jesus Christ, she might be “lost” but she is still human and made in His image. Do you think I’m misreading the quote in the article?
